Omitted Systems

While Cooper's framework originally proposed five systems-the systems of Purposes, Ideas, Interpersonal Interactions, Cultural Norms, and Textual Forms, not all of these systems are examined at length in this project. Due to limits of scope and accomodating new components, this project will focus primarily on the systems of Interpersonal Interactions, Ideas, Purposes, and Materials. These systems provide a means to uniquely assess how the Simming ecology's systems interact to shape interaction and content creation throughout the wider network. Additionally, in the Simming Ecology, significant cultural norms and textual forms (defined to the left) come to light throughout analysis of other systems and the ways in which members of the ecology promote some practices and content while repressing others. Therefore, to avoid redundancy, cultural norms and textual forms are not examined as systems in this project.

This image shows four systems titled 'interpersonal interactions,' 'materials,' 'purposes,' and 'ideas' feeding into the 'content creation' box.
